    The order was lost in the mail but once I got in touch with the vendor to let them know I had not received anything, I was notified it was being refilled and got the package the following business day. It was handled excellently and I couldnt have been more satisfied.

    Whats good about this product? Its cheap, for one thing, and easy to pull out and run across the lawn without a lot of setup. Renting a power aerator is a big production. Whats not great? Well, its a bit flimsy, but so far is holding together. The tines arent very sharp -- I took a grinding wheel to mine to encourage better soil penetration. It requires a pretty significant weight load to get any usable penetration depth. I usually load two cinder blocks lashed to the pedestal with a couple of tie-downs. Unfortunately, the pedestal isnt sized correctly to fit a standard cinder block, so you have to lash it down to keep them from falling off. On a sloped lawn, two blocks is quite a load to haul, but no worse than wrestling with a 250-lb. power aerator. I still rent the power aerator once a year, but now I run this device over the lawn once every couple of weeks for the rest of the season.

    After the first use (on a rain-soaked yard, as recommended), Im a little disappointed. Placing a solid flat cinderblock on the platform, I was unable to PUSH the aerator without the teeth digging in and stopping forward movement altogether. So I had to PULL it instead. If not for the fact that I have a small yard (20 x 40), this would have taken forever. It seems to "aerate" but compared to the "plug-style" machines, this is a poor substitute. (On the other hand, what would you expect for $40?)

    I bought this with some hope that it would break the matting on turf grass, I wasnt even looking for aeration. This product is useless for either endeavor. A cinder block lacked the weight to punch through the grass. I modified the unit by welding two rods to the plate so I could attach weights. Started with 30lbs and still didnt work. At 60 lbs the unit worked but you could imagine pulling that weight around. This thing has a few design problems - if you pull it, you are lifting its weight off of the ground. If you push it, you might as well use no weight at all, your body acts as the weight. You will be guaranteed some exercise with that approach. Oh, I even tried sharpening the blades with a grinder. If you crawl on your hands and knees and use a hammer and nail, the results would be better.

    Dont waste your money on this. They didnt even put enough thought into it as to have a standard cinder block fit on it. You will be breaking one up to make it fit, or find yourself at the hardware store looking for smaller ones to fit the platform. Even then, it doesnt seem to really dig into the ground well, even after watering. This is probably because its more of a rolling motion than a downward motion. Sounds like a good idea, but not when its put into practice.

    Im totally impressed. Let me first admit that Im lazy when it comes to lawn care. This summer, my lawn finally got to the point where I was embarassed about it. Unfortunately, I thought, it was already early August and there was no way I would have a good looking yard this year. Fortunately, a friend (my buddy "Marmaduke") told me about Jerry Bakers tonics, so I bought the book and his video. Within three and a half weeks, my lawn was looking just as good as the guys who spend most of their free time working on their lawns. In particular, I used Jerrys "Drought Buster" tonic to get my grass green again.

    Im very pleased with this product and believe that my yard will look totally FANTASTIC my the end of this month and even better next year!

    I purchased this book for my husband after he saw this on PBS. He loves taking care of our lawn so this was right up his alley. Weve had the book a year and we constantly get compliments on our lawn from all of our neighbors or guests we have over.

    There are a lot of neat tips and tricks you can try using household items like dish soap, spices, baking soda, etc. I forget all of the things, but my husband is always using up something or other of mine for our lawn now. Some of the formulas definitely work for us, others Im not as sure. But either way, my husband is having a ball trying all of these "recipes".

    Id recommend this book to someone looking to improve their lawn and who also likes to work on their lawn and try new things for it. Most of the tips are inexpensive and not too much time or trouble.

    I found the Hound Dog easy to use. It is easiest to use when the ground is moist. We have a large yard so I did a small section each morning until the entire yard was aerated. We started to notice improvements in our lawns appearance within a few weeks. I would definitely recommend this product.

    Ive used the Hound Dog ground aerator on my front lawn with satisfactory results. It does its job as described. It was fairly easy to maneuver and use, driving the tool into the ground with my weight by stepping on the cross plate. It makes a wider hole and gets deeper into the ground allowing for deeper water absorption than the aerator shoes which I have seen advertised. Its a good non-motorized basic tool for small lawns.

    Worked for about three "pushes" then one side plugged up. After cleaning out the plugged side it will slightly work another couple times. I measured and found that the entrance diameter of one of the holes is smaller than the other side. I hope that mine doesnt work simply for this reason and not because the product sucks in general. It would also be nice if there were four tubes in stead of two but Im sure that might not be practical. Either way, Ill find myself a small electric aerator rather than take my chances with another one of these.

    I was worried because we live in the desert and I was affraid that the soil would be too hard. This really works! We dont have much lawn, so this is perfect. It was easy to use, and the plugs all pop out of the top. My kids love it. Its sturdy and Im so glad I got it, Id buy one again!

    These speakers really arent very good. That is because the highs are very harsh and the mid-range almost isnt there. These speakers are too much on the bass side. They are like listening to an old audio tape with Dolby noise reduction on and it cuts the good harmonic overtones. Dont buy them. The Altec Lansing 120 is much better.

    These speakers are so bad I cannot use them. The sound echoes as if coming from the bottom of a very deep well, and reverberation and tinny, thin sound makes it impossible to tell what you are listening to. Sorry. Id send it back if I still had the packaging and sales slip. My bad.

    Im really surprised by the other reviews that I read on these speakers before and after buying them. These speakers are VERY weak and you can barely turn the volume up without getting distortion. I wouldnt recommend these to anyone and I was definitely misled by the reviews on here. You definitely get what you pay for. The price is cheap and so is the quality.

    I bought these to replace a pair of old cheap speakers that Ive been using since I got my first personal computer. They were sounded rough at high volume levels on certain songs like CCRs Keep On Chooglin, and classical music sounded terrible. These are much nicer, with a smooth sound, even at high volume levels. The one con that I have found is with the volume control and the on/off switch being the same control. You cannot leave the speakers set to a particular volume level when the speakers are off, unlike my old speakers, but this is outweighed by the quality of the sound. Overall, a nice set of speakers.

    "It is better to foresee, even without certainty, than not to foresee at all", writes Linus Pauling in the preface of this book, which has become a bible for chemists.When I first read this book, I thought that it was unnecessarily detailed.But then, as I patiently went through the chapters, I realised that Pauling has truly "foreseen with certainty" in his career and discoveries, which is slowly but surely revealed in this book.I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in how a few simple scientific ideas lead to the explanation of literally hundreds of phenomena.In this book, the two times Nobel Prize winner has beautifully demonstrated how his classic Valence Bond Theory can be applied to explain the bewildering array of atoms, molecules and crystals around us.In each chapter, the author introduces certain classic principles like resonance, electronegativity,partial ionic character of bonds, partial double bond character, and hybridization.These concepts are today the cornerstone of the description of thousands of simple molecules. It should be noted that the valence bond approach has its drawbacks, which Pauling does not discuss.It is also true that the Molecular Orbital Theory has replaced his theory in making quantitative calculations.However, Paulings masterly style of writing and the insights which almost each and every page of this book give the reader, are unparalleled.Even though the book would perhaps not prove useful as a modern chemistry book, I think it should be read by each and every chemist and chemistry student as the ultimate example of simplicity,variety and beauty.It is one of the finest examples of how one extraordinary scientist tries to explain diverse chemical phenomena with a few simple ideas.

    This was a great book with a great deal of useful information. My only caution is that you need a box of Kleenex when you read some sections...it is very moving. This book gives great insight into how a well trained dog can help with an Autistic child.     An absolutely wonderful book even if you arent interested in pursuing an assistance dog it is a must read. The authors ability to share not only her familys experience but others as well is deeply touching. I found it informative, educational and heartwarming.

    THE GOLDEN BRIDGE is a wonderful book about working with dogs with special needs children with a primary focus on children with developmental disorders and particularly children with autism. Patti Dobbs, along with other guest writers, have a child with autism. They generously bring you into their lives to share the pain and the joys of having a child that is "different". They all explain the isolation from other families and the beautiful effects that a dog can have in healing.
    There is compelling information about the significant benefits of dogs in the lives of families with special needs and children in classrooms, as well as instructions on training or finding dogs to be a part of families or therapy sessions. Excellent!
